The name of our mission is San Buenaventura.
It was built March 31, 1784 . Father Cyprian Ruio started our mission.
It is located at 211 East Main Street Ventura, Califorina. Our mission
was built because Spanish missionaries wanted to convert to natives
Catholicisms.Also, the king of Spain wanted to claim more
land for Spain and wanted the natives to support them. It was also
rebuilt because the first mission was burned down. | ||||||||||||||||

Our mission was built on the Pacific Coast of California.
Its nickname is "The Mission by the Sea." Also, it is on the El Camino
Real. The materials that were used to build the mission were adobe
brick and arches. The layout of the mission included a cemetary,
church, patio, workshops, and a padres quarters. The buildings in the
mission are unique because it is white and brown with a blue fountain.
It also has two bells, and a cross on top of the church. | ||||||||||||||||

Missionaries, soldiers, and neophytes lived at the
mission. One instereting fact is they had 1,097 marriages.

In 1793 mission san buenaventura was burned
down.It was soon rebuilt.1812 there was also an earthquack that damaged
the mission. In 1857 the missions tiles were replaced. One of the
problems the mission experianced was that spains colony didn't
have enogh money to rebuild the mission until the first mission
was burned down spains colony had enogh money to rebuild the
mission.They grew fruit and vegetables. They raised farm
animalslike chickens, horses, and cows. The region our mission is at is
the coast the chumash lived in our mission. | ||||||||||||||||

Our mission is use for a musem .It use for mass.Across is
a Holy Cross School. Also there chinese communtiy on the on
corner of the misson it was bulit in 1860.The musem
still holds pottery made by native americian. | ||||||||||||||||
