Introduction
The name of my mission is San_Diego_De_Alcala. It was bulit in July 16,1769, 1st of 21 missions. Father Junipro Serrea started my mission. My mission is located 15 miles north C.A Mexico border, on a hill over looking mission valley, about  8  miles  from the  Pacific Ocean . It was built because  the prhists wanted  to spread  chtholicism  and support  Spains colonys.  It was also built to expand Spains land.

Hardships & Changes to the Mission
One problem wasthat the indans got realy mad about the rulesand killed Father Jayme and also burined dowen the mission. My mission was burined down so today they rebuilt the mission. They grew crops like corn, graps, and wheat. the indans that were in the region were the chumash. They adapted to the mission by learning how to do what they where thought.

The Mission Today
Our mission is used today as an active parish church and cultural center. All people are welcome to visit. The reason the mission system was that Mexico warred Spain for independence. The war lasted from 1810 through 1821. The Mexicans believed that the missions were no longer needed and the Native Americans should be let go. The left-over land was given to the     government of Mexico.
