Introduction

The name of our mission is San Fernando Rey De Espana. It was built in September 8,1797. Father Fermin Lasuen started this mission. Our mission is located in a vally 25 miles NW of Los Angeles. Are mission was built because Spanish missionaries wanted to convert the Native Americans to Catholicism. The spnish king also wanted to claim more land for Spain. They wanted the Native Californians to supprt Spain's colony. Spain also wanted expand trade and business.New missions could  become places where trade goods could be bought and sold.

The region was in the Southern Pacific Coast.The materials were adobe bricks.
The layout was cemetery, soldiers quarters, Patio,Partres quarters,long building.They look like apartment ,they had arches ,bells,tiles,lots of  gardends,
churches,fountains,crosses,and dam.It had lots of communities and  now a days it's only one community.Missons then were huge, now a days they are small.

The priests, Native Americans, and Spanish people. Thier jobs were to farm, build, and how to make soap and leather. A mission is a community  ran by teachers of a religion. In the 1760's the spain asked  priest to move Native Americans into missions and teach them new ways to live, work, and prey  with Native Americans whome moved to the missions.

The food would die because they didn't pick it earlier enough in the Native Americans wouldn't want to learn there religion.Are mission was rebuilt because it was destroyed and very old.The missons are now museums for people to see and learn all about it.
The Mission Today
It is used like a museum. Mexico went to war and Spanish did too and Mexico won. The war ended in 1810 to 1821. Mexicans believed there should not be missions.The land was given to the people in the mexican goverment.The spanish missionaries brought ideas and skills to California such as making clothes. The mission system changed C.A.'s economy from huntergather to
farming (agriculture), Cathic belifs and  religian, spanish language, the mission
influenced the way our  buildings look (agricalture), they brought horses to California , and new teachnolgies.
