Our mission is named San Jose. It was founded in June 1797. Father Fermin Lasasuen made the mission.   It is the 14th mission. It is located 15 miles of San Jose east side San fransicisco bay. The mission is 126 ft long and 24 ft high. The mission was made of adobe roof, tile floor, and adobe dark wood. The side wall are supported  by large buttreses.                                                   

Our  mission is located the Pacific  Coast  of  San Fansicisco, bay along of alta California. They got suplies from other mission material of adobe brick.The court yard, cemetary, living quarters,laundry, church, vineyard, aquoaduct, friars quarters.The building set up the church had three windows.The ceiling was 24 ft high and the walls were 4 ft. thick.

The father thought the native to speak Spanish and learn religon. The  Native Americans build the mission ,they farm, they clean clothing, they got water and they had schedule.They also pray and had breakfast at 7:00am. Then they ate until 12:00pm until 2:00pm. At 2:00pm they went back to work. At 5:00pm they pray. They had permission to read the Bible. They had dinner at 6:00pm. At 8:00pm the women to bed and at 9:00pm the men went to bed.

The Native Americans tried to escape. They got caught and then they got whipped. In 1828 one Native American named Estanislao was tried of mission life. So he led an attack the mission. He lost the battle and was sent back to San Jose until he died from smallpox.In 1882 the wooden church  was moved to another site so that the restructring of the authent-looking adobe mission church could begin.

Mission San Jose was destroyed by the 1868 earthquake. Mission San Jose now is a museum .Mexico starded the War for Independence from Spain. Mexico won in 1810 it was a 11 year war. The Mexican people believed that it was for the independence to lie on. The land was given to the goverment officials.The Spanish missionaries brought ideas and skills to California such as making cloths,catholic beliefs and religion,and Spanish language. They brought horses to Califoria.The mission in the way our building looking architcture.
